Romania-produced Dacia Sandero, pricier in home country than in Germany, Spain
Dacia Sandero cars are more expensive in Romania than in countries with a GDP per person four time higher and salaries that are seven times higher than the ones in Romania, like Spain, Germany and Italy, according to Romanian daily Ziarul Financiar.
Thus, Dacia Sandero costs EUR 7,250 in Romania, while in Italy it costs EUR 6,950, and in Spain and Germany, its price starts at EUR 6,990.
“The pricing policy of any car manufacturer is determined by many factors such as the desired market positioning, the fiscal conditions in that country, but also the structure of the range and level of equipment.”, Dacia officials said.
Even if the prices for the Dacia Sandero are lower in Germany, Dacia registrations in this country decreased by 6 percent in April, to 12,900 units, and Dacia's market share dropped to 5.3 percent from 4.8 percent last year. On the other hand, Dacia Sandero registrations in Romania stayed at around 27,000 units.
