Romania raises another USD 750 mln in bond issuance on the US market
Romania raised some USD 750 million Tuesday ( February 29 ) by re-opening the ten-year bond issuance on the US market launched in January, at a yield of 6.45 percent. The bond issue was oversubscribed by four times, the total value of bids submitted by investors was USD 3.2 billion. Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and HSBC were the lead managers.
At the end of January 2012, Romania raised USD 1.5 billion with a 6.8 percent yield. This previous bond issuance for the US market was also met with high demand from investors, who oversubscribed, submitting offers of USD 7 billion.
The country issued the bonds under the medium-term note program valued at EUR 7 billion. The Ministry of Finance’s program aims to raise around EUR 2.5 billion in bonds on foreign markets this year.
