Romania sees natural growth for the third month in a row
The total number of births in Romania surpassed the number of deaths for the third months in a row, in September. The country thus registered a natural growth of 907 people.
The number of births was close to 19,700, lower than the multi-annual high reported in august, of over 21,000, but significantly higher than in September 2014 when 16,800 babies were born.
At the same time, the number of deaths was of almost 18.800, similar to that in September 2014.
Romania’s natural growth was almost 2,800 in the third quarter (July to September), compared to a decline of over 6,500 people in the same period of last year.
However, in the first nine months of the year, Romania had a natural decline of about 42,000 people, down, from 45,000 people in the same period of 2014. There were 154,000 babies born, 11,000 more than in the first nine months of last year while 196,000 people died, 8,500 more compared to last year.
