Romania sets EUR 250 mln budget for Juncker investment plan

09 December 2014

Romania proposed a EUR 250 million budget for stimulating investments in economy between 2015-2017, as part of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker's plan to boost growth, following the EC request to submit proposals, according to the Department for Small and Medium Enterprises, Business Environment and Tourism.

The program will implement a ‘minimis’ scheme to support investment in productive economic sectors, namely food production, furniture, clothing and footwear production, glass and construction materials production, metal construction, automotive industry, manufacturing equipment, including IT and software implementation, in order to increase the workload and competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in these sectors, reports local Agerpres.

Last month Juncker announced a EUR 300 billion plan that he hopes will boost investment without adding to public debt.
