Romanian tennis star Simona Halep invests in expanding hotel in popular ski resort
Romanian tennis star Simona Halep will invest some EUR 500,000 in expanding and refurbishing a hotel she owns in Poiana Brasov, one of the most popular ski resorts in Romania.
With this investment, Halep will add another floor to the hotel and expand its accommodation capacity, according to local website bizbrasov.ro. The four-star hotel now has 24 rooms and last year it welcomed over 20,000 tourists.
Local hotel chain Drachenhaus manages the hotel. Simona Halep bought the hotel from local firm Solar Business Project, which operates several hotels under the Drachenhaus brand, including this one, as well as a pub and an art gallery in Brasov, according to bizvrasov.ro. The transaction took place in 2017.
Simona Halep also has a hotel under construction in Mamaia, the most popular seaside resort in Romania, according to Mediafax.
