Romania pays start-up grants to entrepreneurs returning from abroad

Some 60 Romanian entrepreneurs who returned from abroad signed on Friday, March 15, in Cluj-Napoca, the contracts for grants of EUR 40,000 each, Mediafax reported.

The grants will help them start businesses in the country within the project "Diaspora ReSTART" implemented by the National Council of SMEs in Romania (CNIPMMR).

CNIPMMR President Florin Jianu, explained that the event is a result of the efforts made for Romanians to return home and “bring the entrepreneurship spirit from the diaspora”.

According to him, the areas of activity of the projects financed range from engineering, technical consultancy, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles to restaurants and management consulting, and the beneficiaries are Romanians returning from Spain, Australia, Portugal, Germany, US, and United Kingdom.
