Romania will produce two of the 50 nano-satellites which will be launched worldwide.

The other countries which will produce these nano-satellites will include the US, Japan, Germany, and Italy. The US will have five of these satellites, according to Romanian Minister – Delegate for Scientific Research, Mihnea Costoiu. Romania's two satellites will be built by the Romanian Space Agency ROSA, whose representatives have already met NASA representatives.

Costoiu himself visited the US between January 6 and 14 to attend the International Forum for Space Exploration in Washington. The US will offer Romania know – how, as well as the support of a team of specialists for this project.

After this meeting, Romania was promised a visit by NASA administrator Charles Bolden, who went four times into space.

The nano – satellites will be built on the platform at Magurele, near Bucharest, which will also be used for several experiments involving the effect of radiations over satellites.

The platform will be used to generate a radiation environment similar to the one around the planet Jupiter, and will allow tests alongside NASA specialists.
