Romania to go on road show before first euro titles issuance

30 May 2011

Romania will start a road show meant to present the first euro titles issuance on the international market, part of the Medium Notes Program. The roadshow will begin on June 6. Societe Generale and Erste Bank are the companies selected by the Ministry of Finance for the medium-term financing program.

The Ministry of Finance in Romania will borrow this year EUR 1.8 billion from the foreign markets through the Medium Term Notes program, given that the total funding needed for 2011 is estimated at almost EUR 21 billion, according to an analysis by BRD.

A Medium Term Note is a debt note that usually matures in 5–10 years, but the term may be less than one year or as long as 50 years. It can be issued on a fixed or floating coupon basis.
