Romania is to host the 16th edition of the European Film Festival and the event will visit several cities this May.

The festival kicks off in Bucharest, where 50 films from 26 countries will be screened at Cinema Studio and Cinemateca Eforie between May 4 and May 13, 2012. Romanian band Toulouse Lautrec will open the festival on May 2, with a concert at Cărturești - Verona Garden.

After Bucharest, the festival will continue in Brasov between May 10 and May 13, Timisoara and Tirgu-Mures between May 17 and May 20, and Iasi between May 24 and May 27, 2012.
