Romania to promote tourism with EUR 4 mln international TV advertising budget
Romania plans to spend up to EUR 4 million on promoting the country as a tourist destination on international TV channels. The Romanian Tourism Ministry has started the acquisition procedures for advertising space on international TV channels to promote the country's tourism brand. The EUR 4 million budget doesn't include the 24 percent VAT applicable in Romania.
The Ministry wants to broadcast 20 and 30-second advertisements in a campaign which will last for one year. At least 60 percent of the commercials should be broadcasted during peak rating time. The Ministry aims at the first three international TV stations based on the TV ratings among the targeted audience – people who travel at least six times a year.
Romania launched its new tourism brand last summer, under the slogan “Explore the Carpathian Garden'.
