Romanian air taxi company Inter Aviation invests USD 14 mln in first business jet

13 June 2011

The air taxi company Inter Aviation, part of InterAgro group, owned by Romanian businessman Ioan Niculae, has recently bought a business jet aircraft with USD 14 million, the company's first air taxi. The business air taxi company will also use, from late June, a helicopter purchased in UK at a similar price close to the plane's. The newly-purchased plane, a Hawker 900 XP (in picture), has eight passenger seats.

Inter Aviation targets a fleet of three business jet aircrafts and one or two helicopters. The second aircraft will be purchased in the fall, and the third in 2012, according to the company.

London, Moscow, Dubai, India, North Africa are among the destinations where the new company will operate, while those who will rent the helicopter can reach Romania's neighboring countries, as well as southern Greece and southern France. Renting the charter plane costs at least EUR 7,000 for a return flight from Bucharest to Iasi, and as much as EUR 20,000 for a return flight to Dubai.

Inter Aviation is owned by Ioan Niculae's daughter, Adina Niculae, with 51 percent of the shares, the rest being owned by his father's holding InterAgro.
