A man from Iasi county, in eastern Romania, was attacked with sulfuric acid last weekend, suffering serious burns on both eyes.

The terrible incident occurred on May 12, when two young men threw acid on the man’s face immediately after he opened the apartment door. The man was rushed to the hospital and is now in serious condition, according to local Digi24.

The two attackers ran immediately after throwing the acid on the man’s face, and the Police are now trying to find them. Although the reason for this attack is not clear at the moment, one of the hypotheses is that the young men were looking for a girl who they believed was hiding in the man's apartment.

The prosecutors and police officers are still investigating the case.
