Romanian audiovisual authority sanctions Antena 1 TV station for naked footage of former PM

16 February 2012

The National Audiovisual Council in Romania (CNA) decided that local TV station Antena 1 should interrupt broadcast for 10 minutes during prime time, after showing footage of former Prime Minister Emil Boc naked in a gym locker room. CNA's decision comes after receiving a record 110 complaints after the footage was broadcast on Antena 1's 'A Sinful Show'.

It will not be the first time the TV channel has had to interrupt broadcasts for 10 minutes. A similar ruling in 2010 was made after the channel showed erotic footage.

Antena 1 is part of the Intact group, owned by businessman and politician Dan Voiculescu. The group also includes Antena 3 TV station and Jurnalul National newspaper, as well as several radio stations.
