Romanian authorities spent EUR 25 mln for the EP elections in May

The Romanian authorities have spent a total of RON 111 million (EUR 25 million) on organizing the European Parliament elections in May this year, according to an analysis made by the Permanent Electoral Authority AEP.

“According to AEP’s analysis, the total funds approved for the elections organized on May 25 was of RON 125.77 million, of which RON 111.58 million were actually spent,” according to a statement cited by local Mediafax.

AEP notes that the calculation was made based on the amounts spent on elections, reported to the number of voters present to the polling stations.
