Romanian Banca Transilvania opens its third agency in Rome
Romanian lender Banca Transilvania has opened a new branch in Rome, after opening two bank other agencies in the Italian capital in recent years.
The customers of the BT Villanova agency in Rome can benefit from financial consultancy in Romanian and Italian.
The most popular services at the Italian branches of Banca Transilvania are the money transfer to BT Romania and the mortgage loans for property acquisitions in Romania.
Banca Transilvania expanded to Italy in January 2014. It has 3,500 customers and a mixed team made of Italians and Romanians.
The bank is the third largest lender in Romania based on its assets, with total assets of over EUR 10.5 billion at the end of last year. It has recently boosted its capital by RON 620 million (EUR 139 million) from last year’s profit by issuing 620 million new shares of a nominal share of RON 1 each.
The bank’s market capitalization on the Bucharest Stock Exchange has reached EUR 1.77 billion. The bank’s top shareholders include the EBRD, IFC, local investment funds, and founder Horia Ciorcila.
