Romanian Bitdefender wants to increase sales by half
Romanian IT group Bitdefender posted in 2014 a turnover of EUR 62 million. Over 95% represented exports to all continents, whereas revenues from Romania were below 5%.
“Romania has one of the most dynamic growth worldwide. Antiviral piracy is nonexistent, being replaced by free products. So we’ve recorded significant increases," said Florin Talpes, one of the company’s co-founders, cited by local Wall-street.ro.
Bitdefender will increase its revenues by 50% this year, according to its estimates.
In April, the company launched in the US an innovative Internet of Things (IoT) security solution called the Box. This was probably the biggest launch of a Romanian product in the US so far.
Bitdefender Box is a hardware security solution designed to actively protect users from malware, phishing attacks, redirects, and malicious links.
Bitdefender will increase the number of employees by 10-20% this year. The company currently employs 350 people for research & development.
