Car maker Dacia’s sales volume fell by 7.5 percent in Europe in the third quarter of this year, due to component supply constraints and also by the end of the scrappage bonuses and the discontinuation of the LPG bonus in France, according to Renault Group. This affected Sandero in particular, which posted sales down 47 percent.

However, on the passenger cars segment, Duster performed strongly, with sales up 59 percent, to 28,600 units, according to the company.

At a Group level, Renault posted revenues of EUR 9.7 billion in the third quarter of this year, up 11.9 percent compared to the same period in 2010. See the Renault financial statement here.

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), the Romanian car brand Dacia’s registrations in the EU decreased by 8.2 percent in first seven months of this year, to 146,316 units compared to 159,424 units reported in the same period last year.
