Romanian Bucovina Vehicles to invest EUR 104 mln in a 4x4 van for farming

Romanian company Bucovina Vehicles plans to build an assembly factory for 4x4 vans for farmers in Gura Humorului, Romania, according to Mediafax newswire.

According to the application recently submitted to Gura Humorului City Hall, the company intends to invest some EUR 104 million in building a plant for multifunctional vehicles for farmers, and to create some 1,700 jobs in the first phase.

One of the company’s shareholders, PDL Senator Sorin Fodoreanu, said that this multifunctional van is his and engineer Mihai Ciobanu’s invention, and combines aviation and automotive elements, according to Mediafax. He also said that the prototype was approved, adding that the van is four wheel drive, with loading space and will be targeted at farmers, as attachment of various agricultural devices is possible.

Bucovina Vehicles was founded in 2011 and has five shareholders, including engineer Mihai Ciobanu - with 29 percent, and Sorin Fodoreanu - 28 percent.
