Romanian car market, third highest growth in the EU
New car registrations rose by 24.3% in Romania in the first two months of the year to some 10,900 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
In the European Union, the new car registrations increased by 10.1% in the same period.
Romania ranked third in EU for the growth in new car registrations volume, surpassed only by Cyprus (47.2%) and Ireland (35.5%).
Dacia’s sales went up by 4.2% at EU level to some 59,500 units. The Romanian car brand thus had a share of 2.8% on the European car market in the first two months of the year.
In February, the Dacia registrations advanced by 9.1% to some 29, 250 units. Its market share dropped by 0.1 percentage points compared to February 2015, to 2.8%.
