Romanian central bank’s foreign reserves exceed EUR 31 billion
Romania’s foreign exchange reserves rose to EUR 31.6 billion at the end of October, after Romania’s National Bank (BNR) received the amount recently borrowed from the external markets by the Finance Ministry, namely EUR 2 billion.
At the end of September, the central bank’s foreign exchange reserves were EUR 29.1 billion.
The Finance Ministry issued eurobonds of EUR 2 billion on external markets in October, with a maturity between 10 and 20 years. In October, BNR received EUR 2.8 billion, EUR 0.5 billion of which represented European financing.
The outflows from the national reserve amounted to EUR 350 million, EUR 120 million being a payment for the International Monetary Fund loan.
