Romanian CEO of cable company UPC also appointed at helm of Hungarian subsidiary

Romanian Severina Pascu, the CEO of cable and internet operator UPC Romania, will also take the helm of UPC Hungary from mid-August. She will replace Betzalel Kenigsz­tein, who was promoted head of UPC's operations in the Central and Eastern European region, according to the company. Kenigsz­tein will oversee the activity in Poland, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as the DTH activities in the region.

Severina Pascu took over the helm of UPC Romania in 2011, and under her leadership, Liberty Global's UPC managed to return to growth in Romania. Prior to becoming UPC's CEO, Pascu was financial director for three years. Prior to joining the company, she worked as director with CAIB Romania investment bank, as well as manager with cable telecom company Metromedia International in Romania and in UK, and with consultancy firm KPMG.

UPC Romania had a turnover of EUR 99.1 million in 2012, while the Hungarian subsidiary posted some USD 390 million in revenues last year.
