Romanian charity launches swimming challenge for amateur and professional swimmers
A charity event organized at the Olympic swimming pool from Izvorani near Bucharest will feature on February 2, 2013, the Ultra Swim Snagov Challenge for Hospice Casa Sperantei, according to Hospice.
Romanian Olympic swimmers, former water polo players, record holders, professional and amateur swimmers will participate in this event to raise funds for terminally ill children and adults who need free care from Hospice Casa Sperantei.
Each participant in the competition will raise money from friends, family and colleagues "earning" RON 2 for each pool length swimmed. Thus participants will swim distances between 15,00 meters (30 pool lenghts) and 20,000 meters (400 pool lenghts).
Organizers expect 70 swimmers of which 60 amateur swimmers. For registration visit the site www.smartatletic.ro / ultraswim. Those who want to support the swimmers can donate minimum RON 2 for each pool length. Details and ways to donate can be found on www.hospice.ro or www.smartatletic.ro.
Hospice Casa Sperantei is the largest non-profit medical organization in Romania that provides free palliative care for terminally ill children and adults in Bucharest, Brasov, Fagaras and Bran.
