Romanian IT integrator Sistec, together with two other partner companies from the local market, won in end-July the auction to digitize the civil status document archives in the neighboring Republic of Moldova.

The Romanian company will digitize nine million documents from the Soviet and contemporary era, according to Sistec. Documents include birth certificates, as well as marriage, divorce and death certificates. The project has a value of around USD 750,000 and a duration of two years.

“By digitizing civil status document archives from the Soviet and contemporary era, the time spent at desks will decrease and the pace of service delivery will increase,” said Radu Dinescu, managing director with Sistec Confidential.

Basically, this process involves scanning, entering metadata, checking the information quality and, finally, transferring data to MCloud, the Republic of Moldova’s platform of cloud computing. Sistec will follow this process for documents issued after 1944, using local workforce.

In addition to the team from the Republic of Moldova, Sistec will bring technological resources and operational coordinators  from Romania to handle the digitization of certificates of birth, marriage, divorce and death.

Bucharest-based Sistec has a team of 160 specialists with experience in business and IT. It also has a regional center in Cluj and branches in 26 cities across the country.
