Romanian Dacia employees ask for new highway, better health assistance

Some 8,000 people took part in the protest organized yesterday by the Autoturisme Dacia union in Mioveni.

The employees and their families have asked for the urgent construction of the Pitesti-Sibiu highway as well as changes in the law that discourage the import of used cars.

The protesters also want work contracts concluded at national and branch level as well as the introduction of healthcare services at EU standards.

Car producer Autoturisme Dacia, which is owned by the French company Renault, is the biggest local company in terms of sales and exports.
