Romanian Dacia sales in Europe, down for two months in a row

16 September 2015

Romanian carmaker Dacia’s sales in Europe went down by 8.5% in August, after a 6% decrease in July, as the European car market went up by 11.5% in August, and 9.5% in July.

Dacia car registrations in Europe amounted to almost 20,100 units last month, down from almost 22,000 vehicles in August 2014. In July, Dacia’s sales totaled 31,800 units, down from 33,800 last year. The drop was determined by lower Dacia sales in France and Germany, Dacia’s biggest markets in Europe.

In the first eight months of the year, Dacia car registrations reached almost 260,200 units in Europe, up by 3.5% compared to the same period in 2014, when they totaled over 251,000 units, thanks to positive evolutions in the first half of the year.

Dacia’s market share in the first eight months was 2.8%.
