Romanian Dacia sells more cars in Europe, but its market share goes down

Dacia sold over 318,000 cars in Europe in the first ten months of the year, up by 3.2% over the same period in 2014. However, the European car market recorded a growth of 8.2% in the same interval.

Despite higher sales, Dacia’s market share in Europe dropped from 2.9% to 2.7%.

In October, Dacia’s sales dropped by almost 4%, to some 29,800 cars.

Passenger car sales in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland amounted to 11.9 million in the first ten months of the year, up by 8.2% year-on-year. About 900,000 more cars were sold this year.

Between January and October, the Renault brand sold almost 800,000 cars in Europe, up by 8.7% year-on-year.

Romanians bought more cars in the first ten months of the year compared to last year. The new car registrations rose by 9.3% to some 64,400 units.
