Romanian Dacia unionists end salary increase negotiations
Employee union representatives at local car maker Dacia and the company's administration completed salary rise negotiations on Tuesday, January 20.
They agreed on a RON 150 (EUR 33.3) increase in pay for operators and officials, and on a RON 100 (EUR 22.2) salary hike for first-level managers, starting January, reports local Mediafax.
In addition to these general salary increases, there will be a 1.9% increase for first-level managers and a 3% increase in middle management pay, starting April.
The union launched early last week a labor conflict at the Labor Inspection in Arges county, where the Dacia factory is located, after it had refused the proposals made by the company.
Dacia sales increased by 19% last year to 511,000 vehicles. France remains the main market, with nearly 105,893 units sold, while about 29,625 units sold in Romania.
