Romanian Dacia wants to improve brand awareness
Car producer Dacia will focus on improving its brand awareness this year as the rapid growth in sales recorded in recent years has stopped, according to Automotive News Europe.
The brand’s sales could record this year a growth pace similar to 2015, said François Mariotte, sales and marketing director with Dacia.
“We need to invest in Dacia’s notoriety,” he said. “We need to make people more aware about our products, not just be known by the brand’s name.”
Last year, Dacia’s market share went down by 1 percentage point reaching 2.7%, as the car producer failed to come up with new offers on the SUV and crossover segments.
In 2015, the Dacia sales in the European Union rose by 5.1% to some 383,000 units while the car market went up by 9.1%.
Dacia will have a new CEO starting April 4, as Yves Caracatzanis replaces Nicolas Maure, who was sent to Russia to stop the decline of AvtoVAZ.
