Romanian dairy maker Albalact grows profit by 46% in nine months

Romanian dairy producer Albalact grew its profit to EUR 833,000 in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 46.8 percent on the same period of 2010. The company sold more dairy products, which translated into a higher turnover: EUR 58.4 million, up 34.3 percent year-on-year.

With 500 employees, Albalact is the largest Romanian-owned dairy producer. It produces and sells the brands Fulga, Zuzu, de Albalact and Raraul. The company is also the third largest dairy producer in the country, based on its production capacity. Albalact also runs its own stores in Bucharest and Cluj – Napoca.

The dairy producer is majority owned by Romanian investors Petru and Raul Ciurtin and is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (symbol ALBZ).
