Romanian Deputies to vote on banning smoking in public spaces
Romania’s Chamber of Deputies could debate today, November 25, the draft law which bans smoking in enclosed public spaces, enclosed places at workplace, in children’s playgrounds, and in health & education facilities.
The law would also provide the inscribing of packages with tobacco products and conducting campaigns which inform and educate the population. The consumers should be informed about the quantity of tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide that the smoke contains.
Smoking would be allowed only in special rooms, in the transit area of international airports.
A recent amendment to the law draft also forbids shops to display cigarettes or cigarette prices.
