Romanian DIY retailer, close to EUR 1 bln turnover
Romanian company Dedeman, the largest local DIY retailer, posted a turnover of EUR 981 million last year, 28% higher compared to the level recorded in 2014, reports local Wall-street.ro.
The business grew as the company opened new stores. The company is currently developing two new stores in Satu Mare and Oradea. They will be opened at the end of August, according to the retailer’s estimations.
The company will also start the work on a new store northern Bucharest, near Ikea, next week. It will be the company’s flagship store, said Dragos Paval, Dedeman’s president and majority shareholder.
Dedeman currently has 4 stores in Bucharest and 42 stores in the whole country. Its main competitors are Praktiker, Kingfisher, Leroy Merlin, and Hornbach.
