Romanian DIY retailer Dedeman opens EUR 15 mln new store in Ploiesti
Romanian Do-it-Yourself retailer Dedeman will open a new store in Ploiesti on December 13, following EUR 15 million investments, according to the company.
The new store has a total built area of 15,000 sqm and 380 parking places, and is the company’s sixth store opened in Romania this year.
Located in Bariera Bucov area in Ploiesti, the unit offers hundreds of seasonal products, such as natural and artificial Christmas trees, decorations and lights, in addition to the usual construction materials, furniture, appliances and garden products.
With six stores opened in 2013, the company expects its turnover to go up 8 percent this year, from EUR 540 million reported in 2012.
Dedeman, owned by Romanians Adrian and Dragos Paval, owns 36 stores in Romania, two logistics centers and a car park.
Its portfolio includes over 45,000 products, covering 11 areas. The company employs over 6,600 people.
