Romanian DiY retailer Dedeman opens new store in Constanta with EUR 15.5 mln
Romanian Do-it-Yourself retailer Dedeman finalized the EUR 15.5 million investment in its second store in Constanta, which will be opened on Thursday (March 8 ). The new unit will bring the retailer's network of stores to 27.
The new store in Constanta is located on a 3.5 hectare plot near the Selgros store and the TOM commercial center. “The area around the TOM center has all the necessary premises to become dominant in Constanta’s retail segment. Decathlon and Selgros already have stores in construction inside the complex, while Kika announced that it will start work on a new store, to be located on land purchased few years ago,” said Sinziana Oprea, adviser at Colliers International’s Land Division.
Dedeman, owned by Romanians Adrian and Dragos Paval and based in Bacau, posted a turnover of EUR 476 million last year. Dedeman operates in a market segment shared by retailers such as Praktiker, Bricostore, Mr. Bricolage, Hornbach, OBI and BauMax, among others.
