Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica sees 13% higher profit
Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, which operates the country's nuclear power plant at Cernavoda, posted a net profit of EUR 33.7 million in 2015, up by 13% compared to 2014.
The company’s revenues totaled EUR 393 million, down by 2.6% compared to 2014. The revenues from energy sales were EUR 376 million, similar to the previous year, as the average sale price didn’t change much although the company sold less electricity in the regulated market.
The company saw the best results in 2013, when the turnover reached almost EUR 440 million and the net profit amounted to almost EUR 100 million.
The state has a stake of 82.4% in the company and investment fund Fondul Proprietatea holds 9.7% of its shares. Nuclearlectrica is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and has a market capitalization of EUR 376 million. Its shares have lost 29% of their value in the last 12 months.
