Most Romanian entrepreneurs have no associates
The average Romanian entrepreneur is about 45-year old and went into business on his own, according to the "White Paper of SMEs in Romania in 2016 " report.
Only 22% of the local small and medium-sized companies have between two and five associates. One in five entrepreneurs spends 12 hours at work every day.
Most of the local SMEs are owned by entrepreneurs aged 45-60 (37.5%) and people aged 35-45 (33.8%). People under 25 only control 1% of local SMEs.
Most of the entrepreneurs are men (69.7%), have economic studies (22.3%) or engineering background (17.2%), are married (82.9%) and have kids (70%). About 64% of Romanian entrepreneurs have university degrees.
The report is based on interviews with almost 1,100 entrepreneurs from all over Romania.
