Romanian film 'Everybody in our family' voted best movie at local Anonimul Film Festival
The grand prize at the Anonimul Film festival, which ended last week-end in Romania, at Sfantu Gheorghe, went to Romanian film 'Everybody in our family', by Radu Jude. The festival audience voted the movie their favorite and earned it the USD 3,000 prize.
The feature film recently received the big prize at the Sarajevo film festival. The film got the ‘Heart of Sarajevo’ award and some EUR 16,000, granted by the Council of Europe.
‘Everybody in our family,’ which takes a satirical look at the consequences of divorce, was supported by the National Center of Cinematography, Eurimages, HBO Romania, Teleclub and City Cinema. The film stars Serban Pavlu, Mihaela Sirbu, Gabriel Spahiu, Tamara Buciuceanu Botez, Stela Popescu and Alexandru Arsinel.
Radu Jude was born in 1977 in Bucharest and he graduated from the University Media - Department of Film Directing. He worked as assistant director for feature films such as ‘Amen,’ directed by Costa Gavras and ‘Death of Mr. Lazarescu,’ directed by Cristi Puiu.
The Anonimul Film Festival, now at its 9th edition, took place at Sfantu Gheorghe, in the Danube delta, between August 6 and 12.
