short waves film cannesRomanian producers and film makers are invited to submit projects in the pre-selection for the Romanian Short Waves-6 program, which will be presented between May 16 and 26 within the Cannes Film Festival. This will be part of the Short Film Corner within the international film festival. The Association Secvente has called for proposals until March 31. All films should be on DVD, together with the submission form which can be taken either from the National Cinema Center in Bucharest, or downloaded from Romanian Short Waves 2013's Facebook page.

To be eligible, films should be 20 minutes maximum, be produced after January 1, 2012 and subtitled in English of French. Each director can submit only one short film.

Cannes' Short Film Corner started in 2004 and offers producers and directors the chance to showcase their films, as well as meet and start possible collaborations. This is only a market place for shorts film, so being part of the Short Film Corner is not the same as being selected in the competitive sections at the Cannes Film Festival. Last year, 1,945 short films were registered for the Cannes' Short Film Corner, and they had over 35,000 viewings.
