Romanian firms to build parking areas on highway to Ploiesti

19 January 2016

Romania’s highways company CNADNR has attributed a contract worth RON 35 million (EUR 7.7 mln) without VAT to a joint venture of three Romanian companies for the design and construction of the short-term parking and service areas on the Bucharest - Ploiesti highway.

The consortium, which is made of Good Prod, Axia and Transproiect 2001, won the contract following a public auction, reports local Mediafax.

The design phase will last two months whereas the construction phase is expected to last three months.

The Bucharest – Ploiesti highway, which is 62 kilometers long, was opened for traffic in July 2012. The highway currently has no parking space and no service area.
