Romanian Foreign Minister: EU needs new security strategy
Romania’s Foreign Affairs Minister has sent the EU a proposal for a new security strategy, said Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.
The current EU strategy, which dates back from 2003, no longer meets the security situation around the EU.
Bogdan Aurescu spoke last Friday in Cluj-Napoca at a conference on NATO's eastern flank security.
Aurescu pointed to the major risks from East and South of EU, reports local Digi24. The European Union can’t assert its role as a global actor unless it manages to be active and stabilize its neighbouring countries, the Minister said.
