Romanian entrepreneur Camelia Sucu, who owns the Class Living furniture business, has invested some EUR 5 million so far in Piata de Gross market in Bucharest, which will be called Abundia. Sucu submitted the project for EU funding of some EUR 4.3 million, which she will use for modernizing warehouses and building new ones at Piata de Gros.

The market, located in Berceni neighborhood of Bucharest, covers 12 hectares and comprises 25,000 sqm of buildings. Sucu wants to turn it into the main business to business supplier of vegetables in Bucharest.

The investor has started diversifying her businesses and has invested in cattle farms. She also wants to invest in a vegetable farm in Tulcea and plans to open two new cattle farms.

Sucu started investing in the furniture business in the 90s together with her then husband Dan Sucu, founding Mobexpert. The two divorced in 2007, when she sold her stake in Mobexpert for EUR 40 million, but stayed on-board at Class Living. Camelia Sucu also owns the Natuzzi store in Pipera.
