Romanian furniture maker Lemet invests EUR 400,000 in new store in Craiova
Romanian furniture producer Lemet recently opened a new store in Craiova, Romania, following an investment of some EUR 395,000 (RON 1.7 million), according to the company. The new store opened under the Lem’s brand covers an area of 1,300 sqm, bringing Lemet’s retail chain to a total of over 65,000 sqm across the country.
This is the third Lem’s store opened this year, after stores in Pitesti and Constanta, which required an investment of some EUR 480,000.
Lemet’s turnover went up 20 percent year-on-year in 2012, to some EUR 47.1 million (RON 210 million), according to the company. The manufacturer’s turnover in 2011 was EUR 40.8 million.
The furniture maker’s factory located in Campina, Romania, was set up in 1991 and currently covers 35,000 sqm. Lemet’s factory produces 360,000 furniture items a year. The company currently has a total of 1,250 employees. Its main competitors are Mobexpert, Elvila, Ikea, Kika, Rovere Mobili.
