Romanian Gendarmerie wants to buy 28,000 guns worth EUR 13 mln
The Romanian Gendarmerie plans to buy more than 28,000 guns, worth some RON 60 million (over EUR 13 million), the institution announced on Facebook.
The Gendarmerie has published an announcement in the electronic procurement system (SEPA) in this sense.
In a Facebook video, captain Bogdan Dobre, active within the Technical Service, the Logistics Directorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie, said that the institution is currently equipped with a 7.65x17mm guns, which have been designed and manufactured since 1974. However, as the Romanian Gendarmerie executes missions in theaters of operations, in Afghanistan and Africa, where the international partners use 9x19mm guns, it should also upgrade its equipment.
However, Romanian Gendarmerie spokesperson, major Irina Dragan, told Agerpres that “such purchases will only be made if money is allotted from the budget.”
