Romanian Government presents maximum mandatory car insurance tariffs
Romania’s Government presented yesterday the maximum tariffs for the mandatory car insurance premiums RCA.
The prices, which have been calculated by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) and approved by the Competition Council, will be set by Government decision.
The RCA maximum premiums vary depending on the engine capacity, the car type, and owner’s age, reports local Profit.ro.
Young people under 25 will have a maximum RCA tariff that exceeds RON 3,000 (EUR 666) for a car with an engine capacity of over 2,500 cc. At the opposite side, the lowest maximum tariff, amounting to RON 541 (EUR 120.1) will be for people over 60 who have cars of up to 1400 cc.
For freight vehicles, the maximum RCA tariff for an individual starts from RON 749 (EUR 166.3) and reaches RON 2,979 (EUR 661.4).
For companies, the maximum RCA tariff for passenger cars ranges between RON 885 (EUR 196.5) and RON 1,285 (EUR 285.3). The maximum RCA for freight cars owned by companies ranges between RON 943 (EUR 209) and RON 7,534 (EUR 1,672).
The Government will approve the tariffs next week. These maximum premiums will apply for a period of six months, as the Government decided in mid-September, after massive transporters’ protests.
