Romanian Government wants to pay companies to train apprentices
Companies in Romania that accept to train apprentices and trainees will be reimbursed the minimum salary in the economy, namely EUR 250 per month per apprentice, for the whole training period, according to a draft law approved by the Government yesterday.
The money will be used to pay the apprentices. At the end of this training period, trainees will also get a certificate, so they can get a job anytime as they are already qualified, labor minister Lia Olguta Vasilescu said at the beginning of the Government meeting on Thursday, March 30.
Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu said the law draft emerged after talks with Romanian and foreign investors. The draft law needs to be voted by the Parliament before coming into force.
The Government hopes to get EU funds to finance this project.
