Romania's Government has approved the national occupational classification structure, applicable as of January 1, 2011, which includes fortune tellers, companions and valets. The classification also includes bookmakers, household administrators, street salespeople, models, product presenters and providers of quick, on-the-spot services.

The occupational classification applies to every field of activity and is mandatory in the public administration, economic agents irrespective of ownership, trade unions and employers' organizations, foundations, and when filling out official forms.
