Romanian Govt. asked to postpone gas price liberalization for large consumers
Energy supplier E.ON has asked the Romanian government to also postpone gas price liberalization for industrial consumers, scheduled for January 1, 2015, after the price of gas for households was also maintained flat, according to the company’s general manager, Frank Hajdinjak.
“Under the current plan, the liberalization of the gas market for industrial consumers would take place in mid-winter, when consumption is high, and in the middle of the Russian gas crisis. So there is a risk that domestic gas prices will increase very much. It’s not the right time to liberalize the market,” he said, cited by local Capital.
Romanian Minister: IMF and EC agree to postpone gas price liberalization.
