Romanian Grup Servicii Petroliere adds three new ships to its fleet

Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP), the largest Romanian supplier of offshore integrated services for the oil&gas industry, announced that it will expand its fleet by purchasing three new Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) built by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, in south eastern China.

“The fleet extension with three new platform supply vessels follows GSP development strategy. The company’s offshore fleet will rise to 13 vessels of different types apart from the seven MODUs and the offshore construction vessels fleet,” the company said. In addition to these, GSP’s marine fleet also has seven Jack-up Rigs.

The new platform supply vessels are 87 meters long and 18.8 meters wide, and a deck area of 1,000 sqm. They can accommodate 52 persons. The vessels are equipped for carriage of dry bulk products, general supplies and liquid mud, general cargo on the open deck as well as special products.

The three new vessels' names are GSP Altair, GSP Centaurus and GSP Pegasus.

Grup Servicii Petroliere is an integrated service provider to the oil & sas, renewables and telecommunications industries. The group works for clients such as OMV Petrom, Gazprom, Pemex, E.On, BASF and TPAO. Last year, the company had total revenues of EUR 369 million and a net profit of EUR 32.5 million.

GSP is part of Upetrom Group, which is controlled by Romanian businessman Gabriel Comanescu.
