Romanian healthcare group plans to reach 200 pharmacies by end-2016
Local healthcare group Polisano, which also has a pharmacy network, has opened in Timisoara its 101st pharmacy, and wants to double its units by the end of next year. The company plans to have 200 pharmacies by December 2016 and 300 units in 2018.
Last year, the group had 65 pharmacies under the name Reteta (The Prescription), which was later changed to Polisano. The company has also started selling more pharmaceutical products, increasing the number of available products from 18,000 to 23,000.
Polisano started as a drug distribution business, but now the group also has clinics, hospitals, and a drug factory. In 2014, it posted a turnover of EUR 380 million and had about 2,000 employees.
