Romanian healthcare provider MedLife plans EUR 25 mln acquisitions by end-2017
MedLife, the biggest private healthcare operator in Romania, plans to invest at least EUR 25 million in new acquisitions by the end of next year.
The operator has signed a EUR 56 million loan contract with a syndicate of banks coordinated by the largest local lender BCR, which also includes ING Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale. MedLife will use EUR 20 million of the loan for new acquisitions, to which it will add EUR 5 million from its own funds.
“We are now in competition for all the medical companies in the Romanian private sector and not only. With some of them, we are already in advances talks,” said Mihai Marcu, MedLife board director.
The company doesn’t exclude the possibility of new financing or alliances for significant acquisitions, Marcu added.
