Romanian households reach revenues of RON 3,000 per month

The total revenues of the Romanian households increased by 3.8% in the last quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter, reaching RON 3,085 (EUR 684).

Their expenses went up by 5.9% during this period, to RON 2,692 (EUR 597), according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The households’ revenues rose by 7.8% in the last three months of the year compared to the same period in 2015.

A Romanian household has on average 2.5 people. This means that the monthly revenues of a family member reached EUR 259 in the last quarter of 2016.

Of the average revenues of a Romanian household in the last three months of last year, about EUR 607 represented cash income whereas the rest was contribution in kind.

More than half (58.4%) of the total revenues of the Romanian households came from salaries between October and December 2016. The revenues from pensions and welfare had a contribution of 22.5% during this period whereas those from agriculture totaled 2.2%.
